A Blest Birthday Postcard
This postcard was obviously sent as a birthday card. It has a poem written on it saying: "I cannot grasp your hand my friend, On this your natal day, God bless you wheresoe'er you wend, Love be your earthly stay."
This postcard was sent from Edith to Miss Smith of Pitmaston, Worcester. It has a postmark of June 19th 1914 - 9 days before Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated - the catalyst of World War I. It is the very last postcard received in this collection.
